Project Brief

Choose any scientific topic and create a comprehensive information graphic about the topic.

I chose to tackle the evolutionary processes that make tardigrades - or ‘water bears’ - practically invincible.

Exploratory Research

Read, document, catagorize, read more, repeat.

One main challenge encountered was trying to find the sweet spot between conveying a large amount of complex information and retaining accessible visual hierarchy and aesthetics.

Much of my original research was translated to graphics, icons, or simply cut from the design to cultivate a better learning experience for the user.

The final product is a very consolidated explanation of the tardigrade’s evolutionary processes but it communicates all of the crucial information in a digestible format for the audience.

All graphic elements seen in the final poster were hand drawn with a 12mm Micron pen.
