07 OBJECT COMPOSITIONS

Deeply inspired by Walter Wick’s infamous I-Spy photography, I arrange my own collection of thumb-sized trinkets, bits, and bobs in different color schemes, themes, and place-bound compositions.

I’m  particularly interested in found objects; and otherwise broken, discarded, or ignored pieces of ephemera. My most prized posessions are found lodged in sidewalk cracks and buried in leaves. Some of my greatest joys come from spotting a glistening object in a patch of fresh-cut grass; perhaps someone’s singular lost earring or even a half-rusted paperclip.

I’ve found that things find me - on the ground, as gifts from friends, in boxes from my childhood. Sometimes I go looking for them, but rarely will I find anything I like. The best trinkets are accumulated without searching.
